The small footprint powerhouse: Cub 175 Ah lithium battery
If you have high power requirements but space and weight are a heavy consideration, then the mid-sized Cub 12.8v 175 Ah Lithium Battery is your new best friend. The Cub delivers the big power, performance and storage you need in an impressively small footprint and manageable transportable size, at only 16kg and 172mm x328mm x212mm (similar size to the N70 battery).
With nominal voltage of 12.8V and a capacity of 175 ampere-hours (Ah) the Cub has a total energy capacity of around 2,240 watt-hours (Wh); perfect for high-powered energy usage consumed over moderate durations. With M8 connection terminals it is easy to integrate into most electrical setups and will supply a 3000w inverter at full load; with the option of expandability (using parallel connection to up to four identical batteries of the same voltage). Utilise multiple Cubs together and cater to your specific power needs with increased capacity and even longer running time when and where you need it.
The Cub will charge and discharge between temperatures of 0-60C° and will continue to discharge to -20C°, making it versatile for use in both hot and cold climates for the flexibility and freedom you need. You can even use your Cub 12.8v 175 Ah Lithium Battery to jump start your car battery in an emergency! The Cub is a unique and convenient energy storage solution for the moderate high-power user, without the inefficiencies associated with oversizing.
Efficient and high-quality 175 Ah battery, designed for longevity
The Cub 12.8v 175 Ah Lithium Battery features an durable lightweight design with high-energy density to handle frequent charge-discharge cycles and delivery of consistent power over a longer life cycle of up to around 10 years (depending on usage). It also has a 5A active balancer installed for active cell balancing to optimise the health and efficiency of the battery and protect against degradation. It’s built with ABS style casing, high-quality EV Grade CALB battery cells and robust construction for durability in demanding environments (like marine or off-road adventures) for withstanding vibrations, shocks and temperature variations.
Each battery manufactured by PowerPaul Australia features the latest software and extensive set-up procedures. We tailor and refine BMS performance for protection from damage due to faults (such as over/under voltage or over current) and the highest accuracy and SOC readings possible, so your system runs perfectly. Every battery is calibrated, load-tested and fully cycled at least twice to confirm and rate its capacity and quality. The design of the battery internals, bus bars, BMS program settings and firmware is all done in-house by our team with a high level of experience, expert knowledge and testing.
Monitor your 175 Ah battery remotely, via App/Bluetooth
A key feature of the Cub 12.8v 175 Ah Lithium Battery is the Daly 250A BMS (battery management system) which has Bluetooth so you can connect to your Cub for remote monitoring using the Apps available for iPhone and Android. Monitor charging and discharging status and use it as a handy tool for fault-finding within your electrical system. Rename and personalise your battery in your Bluetooth list of devices.

The Cub 12.8v 175 Ah Lithium Battery also features a high-quality LED display showing charge status and a manual button for BMS reset (this button also wakes up the battery if it has gone to sleep after being fully discharged). You can choose from an internal or external display, either standard or enhanced. The Regular Display provides a quick approximate SOC visual guide in 4 steps. The Enhanced Display provides a four-bar visual SOC display as well as voltage, current, temperature, status and SOC reading.

Very happy with this battery, It crams a lot of ah into a small case. Its performing faultlessly so far.
I’ve been using two Cub 175Ah lithium batteries from PowerPaul Australia in parallel for several years without any issues. Recently, one of the batteries began charging inconsistently. I reached out to Paul, who promptly assessed the situation through a few messages and photos. He agreed there was a problem and arranged for the battery to be picked up from Far North Queensland and sent to his workshop in Melbourne.
Within two weeks, including return shipping, the battery was repaired and re-installed into my system.
Paul’s expertise and customer service are second to none. While no product is flawless, Paul’s commitment to resolving the issue and improving the product for the future is commendable.

Amazing service and amazing product.
The Cub fitted into an N70 battery box and made the installation very easy. So far it is doing everything as per the specifications. Notably has a larger capacity than the 175amp spec. It’s a quality piece of gear.
Had the Cub for 6 months now and it is great. 175Ah capacity and it fits in the same N70 size where my itech120 was (except the old tech120 was down to 90Ah after 4 yrs. So now i have ample capacity to keep the engel fridge going and i can use the travel buddy for lunches when camping and don’t need to run the car. The enhanced Daly display is also very handy – don’t need a shunt to monitor current and capacity %.
