We’ve been quiet… No nothing’s wrong, we’re just head down working on stuff…

So here’s the what’s what.

Next week we’ll be announcing the launch of an Over the Air Upgrade to PowerPaul battery BMS Software. This applies to all the ones with the LED or LCD and Daly BMS. It means if you have a V2, V3, V4, V5, or V6 battery, you can upgrade it to V7 settings FREE OF CHARGE without even removing it from the vehicle. This is putting the “Supported” part of our slogan into action once again. More info on this coming to the website soon. There will be a short form so we can confirm a few details before providing the instructions.

Also in the next few weeks, will be 3 new batteries added to our line-up. We’re just waiting on some components so we can build them properly, but we expect to have them available early July.

The new freight boxes are awesome. They cost us money but save us time, and they are much more robust so they help reduce the chances of damage during transit. We’re still looking into if having them returned for re-use is economically viable or not. But either way your batteries are better cared for on the road.

The new test bench setup with the Victron Smart Shunts has been anticlimactic with some glitches found in the Shunt operation. We have a temporary solution on the cards using some low voltage cut-out boards. But ultimately we want to rebuild the test rigs using Victron Orion XS converters for added efficiency and they also have their own low voltage cut-out. Buying 12 of them is a “later” task though. There’s always a solution, and we’ll get there.

The shunt test is happening behind the scenes. Like the fridge test, we’re observing lots of different things so tests often get halted to adapt and ensure they are as accurate and as useful as possible. Putting 7 shunts into the mix makes it quite awkward. But we should have some preliminary results late this week, with full results (hopefully) by the end of next week.

Once the shunt test is done, we’ll move onto testing a couple of DC-DC converters that we have ready to go here.
