We’ve always re-used as much as possible, and this has meant our freight boxes can look a little used and abused. And more recently we’ve been using our other packing material cut up into useful sizes to send batteries in boxes. Again this is visually unappealing. Fortunately the vast majority of our customers have been very supportive of us re-using, reducing and then recycling when necessary.

We reached a point recently where we no longer had enough packing material, so we obtained excess material from nearby businesses instead of them disposing of it. This has worked fine for a couple of months.
But now we have organised to have some of our products sent to us in boxes designed specifically for our batteries. This means it’s brand new and un-marked. Double wall cardboard forms the outside, and the inside is custom made foam that fits just right. It’s going to be a lot more gentle on the batteries to hopefully handle those heavy handed couriers.

Al in all we’re excited to start sending batteries out in these and it saves us decent chunks of time too.
Lastly, we’re looking into the idea of customers being able to return the boxes for them to be re-used. We’re not sure if it will be feasible but stay tuned in case we find an economical way.
